Background of the Calista Luxury Resort

Construction of Calista Luxury Resort began in 2005. Previously, Özkar Company had not invested in tourism – this is its first project in the field. As with all other Özkar projects, Calista was implemented with an emphasis on achieving quality rather than reducing cost. The basic philosophy of the Calista is to achieve excellence, in both quality and service.
Calista Luxury Resort demonstrates the importance of architectural design and it’s impact, not only in Turkey but to all of the world. The Calista’s architectural design is by GMP, one of Germany’s leading architecture firms. The interior design is by British Solano.

GMP

GMP is one of the most successful architecture firms in the world, and has put its architectural signature on the Calista Luxury Resort. The firm was established in 1965 by Meinhard von Gerkan and Volkwin Marg. GMP’s first project was the Berlin Tegel Airport. Recently, GMP has designed some of the most important structures in the world, including Foshan Century Lotus Sports Center (China), National Conference Center in Hanoi (Vietnam), Siemens Center (Shanghai), Wuxi Administration Centre Taihu (China) , FIFA World Cup 2010 (South Africa), Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), (London), Architekturwerkstatt (Hamburg), Abbe-Zentrum Beutenberg (Germany), Stone for the Grand Theatre in Qingdao (China). Each carries the signatures of GMP. GMP has its headquarters in Hamburg, with projects in China, Vietnam, Russia, Italy, Spain, Lithuania and Luxemburg. SOLANO

Calista Luxury Resort also demonstrates its architectural sensitivity in its perfect interior décor. The complete interior design of the hotel was undertaken by British Solano, one of the worlds most famous interior design companies. Frank Solano has put his signature on over 280 significant projects world-wide. In Calista, he states, he has created a brand new concept which combines all of his works. He puts his spirit into each project he implements, saying: “The location of a Project wakes the soul in a person before all else. The whole project begins this way. Calista takes place in a magical location. The sea, nature, air … everything about the location is wonderful. This was one of the first things that inspired me. I worked with tremendous pleasure. When I saw the Belek region for the first time and heard about the Calista Project, I decided to create a whole from my pieces. I gathered parts from my previous works. Then, by adding the parts from me I tried to create something totally different. Andi everything found their real positions.“
